What You Need to Know About License Renewal in Indiana
Indiana educators who hold renewable licenses under Bulletin 400, Rules 46-47, Rules 2002, REPA, or REPA 3 can use a Professional Growth Plan as one of three renewal options.
There are several types of PGPs depending on your license and career path:
PGP Types & Requirements
- 5 or 10-Year License Renewal: Requires a 90-point PGP
- Initial Practitioner Cycle Reset: Requires a 90-point PGP for a third renewal of a two-year license
- Conversion to 5-Year License: Requires a 40-point PGP to convert an Initial Practitioner license to a Practitioner license
Other Licenses & Permits:
- Educational Interpreter (PGPEI): Requires 36 PGP points
- Career Specialist Permit (Renewal): Requires 40 PGP points after the first renewal
Note: All PGP points must be earned after the issue date of the license being renewed. Track and submit your plan through your LVIS account.
