Who are we and what do we do for teachers?
We are a company created by teachers, for teachers. Teachers nationwide now have an easy and affordable way to renew or maintain their teaching certificates and licenses. We understand the busy schedules of teachers are across the nation and how expensive and time consuming it is to maintain a certificate can be, so it is with great excitement we open our doors to all U.S. teachers!
We started in Pennsylvania, catering strictly to PA teachers (you may know us as ACT 48 Academy in PA). When we started receiving requests from our teacher friends in New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Maryland, we had to consider expanding our services to the rest of the nation! However, requirements in PA are different than requirements in other states, so with a little research and some guidance from fellow teachers, we came up with a plan to help any teacher renew their certificates, maintain their licenses and connect with their own states’ renewal procedures.
How do I renew my teaching certification?
Through our website, teachers have more clarity on their specific requirements and approved options for obtaining renewal hours, credits, units, professional development points. It doesn’t matter what your state calls them, we can help! Under our “Find Your State” tab you can easily check your states’ renewal requirements, download a Request for Approval form (if administrative approval is necessary), or check the links to your states’ education department for specific questions or guidance on license and certification renewal. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on college credits and materials, no need to even leave your home to attend a class or workshop! There are no time restraints or extra application fees or separate testing or meetings. Once you choose and purchase one of our courses, all of the materials you need will be emailed to you directly. (Which includes: the course, additional materials to go along with the projects if necessary and an evaluation). If you want to finish the course in a day, a week or a year, it is up to you. Teachers can choose from 3, 6, 15 and 18 hour courses.
Earning and managing professional development hours is easy with The Teacher’s Academy!
All of the courses come with easy instructions on downloading the course to your computer and uploading the finished projects to our website. You will complete a series of projects that range from short answer tests, writing lesson plans, creating rubrics, typing essays, evaluating websites and more. Once the projects have been uploaded and reviewed by the Teacher’s Academy (it takes about 48 hours to review the projects and send out the completion email), you will receive 2 certificates in the postal mail embossed with The Teacher’s Academy logo. One certificate is for your records and one for your administration department to use to manage your earned professional development hours to the state.
Our process never changes so each time you download a course, you will receive the same set of instructions, the same course format and the same great response time, just incase you have any questions or issues with completing your course.
Teachers Serving Teachers
Our nation is standardizing our teaching practices as evidence through the Common Core Standards. Even if your state has not adopted the standards, our courses offer cutting edge teaching techniques, incorporate the use of technology and address the need for differentiation across classrooms nationwide. As we open our doors to all of our US teachers, we look to learn about the changing needs of our teachers and students across the nation so we can research, develop and deliver the highest quality, relevant, and of course painless, way to maintain our teaching certificates.
Here is a sample of some of our states license renewal requirements:
Don’t see your state here? No worries, we have all 50 states and their renewal requirements along with the link to their specific departments of education under the “Find Your State” tab on our website: www.theteachersacademy.com.
