Professional Development Points

Welcome, Virginia Teachers!

  • Virginia teachers need 180 Professional Development Points every 5 years for license renewal.
  • Courses fall under Option #8 “Professional Development Activities” of the Licensure Renewal Manual.
  • Teachers may take courses worth 5 hours or more.
  • Professional development hours/points are listed on Certificates of Completion. One 15 hour course = 15 renewal points or 1.5 CEUs.

Professional Development for Busy Teachers

  • Materials are sent immediately.
  • Courses can be completed autonomously.
  • Courses are written by active school teachers and designed to improve student learning through the enhancement of the teacher’s pedagogy.

Virginia Private School Teachers

  • The Teacher’s Academy is an approved provider of ACSI Credits, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by Association of Christian School International.
  • The Teacher’s Academy courses fall under professional, non-biblical studies.
